= Step1 - Install Netkit =

cd ~
wget http://stud.netgroup.uniroma2.it/~saverio/netkit/netkit-core-2.12-r2-32.tar.bz2
wget http://stud.netgroup.uniroma2.it/~saverio/netkit/netkit-filesystem-i386-F7.0-r2-meshlink-saverio.tar.bz2
wget http://stud.netgroup.uniroma2.it/~saverio/netkit/netkit-kernel-i386-K3.2-r2.tar.bz2

untar this three files, they will install everything in the ~/netkit folder

run ./check_configuration.sh in the ~/netkit folder to adjust your .bashrc

Saverio .bashrc for example is:

export NETKIT_HOME=/home/saverio/netkit
export PATH=/home/saverio/netkit/bin:$PATH
export MANPATH=:/home/saverio/netkit/man


 = Step2 - Use the meshlink setup =

cd lab1
lstart

Three xterm will come up with three virtual machines.

inside the virtual machine goto meshlink sources

cd /hosthome/path/to/meshlink/source/inyourhome

autoreconf -i && ./configure && make
cd meshlink-sample
make

now you can use the meshlinkapp

./meshlinkapp /meshlink myhostname remotehostname

every virtual machine has a configuration in the /meshlink folder
